IPL 2023 Auction Rules
When compared to the IPL 2022 mega auction, the IPL 2023 mini-auction will give franchises the advantage of keeping the majority of their players on their rosters. This decision was made by the BCCI.
- No franchise will be allowed to buy a player beyond their purse balance.
- Each team has to spend at least 75% of their total amount.
- The option of the Right to Match (RTM) card will not be available to franchise.
- The number of players in each team should not exceed 25 while each squad should have a minimum of 18 players.
- Each franchise can have a maximum of 25 Indian players and a minimum of 17 Indian players. Similarly, each franchise can have a maximum of 8 international players in the squad but there’s no capping on the lower limit.
